Smear?!?

I’m still trying to figure out how General Wes Clark smeared John McCain’s service. John McCain’s campaign responded to Gen. Clark and Obama with the following

“Apparently Barack Obama now thinks that smear attacks on John McCain’s military service are fair game.”

Let us review the quote from General Clark…

“I don’t think getting in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to become president.”

Let’s see..McCain was a fighter pilot and he was shot down…no smears there. Military service does not make you automatically qualified for the Presidency..check, that’s not a smear too..

See..this is the Republican tactic…just claim everything is a smear, even if it is true..another attempt to shift the focus away from McCain’s “qualifications”

Let’s see what else General Clark said about McCain and see if they are smears..

“In the matters of national security policy making, it’s a matter of understanding risk,” he said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “It’s a matter of gauging your opponents and it’s a matter of being held accountable. John McCain’s never done any of that in his official positions. I certainly honor his service as a prisoner of war. He was a hero to me and to hundreds of thousands and millions of others in the armed forces, as a prisoner of war.

“He has been a voice on the Senate Armed Services Committee and he has traveled all over the world, but he hasn’t held executive responsibility,” Clark said. “That large squadron in the Navy that he commanded - that wasn’t a wartime squadron.”

Damn, that Wes Clark..how dare he claim that McCain was a hero!

McCain has never had executive experience, like Barack. However, McCain lacks the ability to judge risk and reward. Look at his support of the Iraq War and his insistence that we will stay there for 100 years or more. In addition, i still vividly remember his “bomb, bomb, bomb bomb Iran” chant.

I am tired of John McCain always trumping the fact that he was a prisoner of war. Blah blah blah..he was a prisoner of war, yet he approves torture tactics. The fact that he still thinks of Vietnamese as “gooks” disqualifies him in my book.

McCain lacks the judgment to be the next President of the United States of America. He lacks integrity, he lacks the mental capacity to lead a nation, and he lacks the courage and heart to deal with our enemies through diplomacy and not force.

John McCain, like George Bush, is UNFIT to lead this great nation into the future.
